the wind of life

Stepping out of the door, I felt released and free. It was just school for some, but for me, it was bondage. A different world where I couldn't completely be myself. The dried up leaves that had fallen hopelessly to the ground, suddenly lifted into the air, free from the gravitational forces that bound them to the concrete. Slowly they circled around me as the breeze pushed them into life. I could sense my hair lifting with the wind and feeling light. It spoke to me. My eyes would close and a smile would surface from behind my insecurities. If the moment was any more magical, I would be flying...no...soaring. Feeling revived, I walked onwards towards the grass-lined sidewalk where my ride home awaited.
