Sometimes things work out without a fight, and other times the fight is part of it being worth it. It makes me wonder if there's a general rule to things that are meant to be. If that it happens with struggle, or if it is meant to be - it just happens. It's hard to believe that anything is achieved without some struggle, but then what if without struggle we're still unhappy with the results. I guess there really isn't a general rule. Fighting for something doesn't necessary mean sour grapes, and having something easily doesn't necessarily mean it's what you were meant to have. They key to true happiness is really making the events work for you and others.
4/6 convicted in the brutal crime committed in Delhi have been sentenced to death. 1 committed suicide while in jail. And the last one, juvenile, is to spend 3 years in reform. The death of the young woman, victim of the recent Delhi gang-rape, has been done justice to. Or has it? I wonder what her parents must feel. No amount of "justice" and no punishment would be enough for them. Nothing would really truly justify her death. But her death acted as a catalyst to get to this result. The real change needs to be in the mindset of those who commit such crimes. I guess though we get to a point where we feel there isn't a better way. The punishment, cruel as it is, is all that is left. That all other options have been closed off by the very nature of the crime itself. Reforming these criminals would not alleviate any pain. Changes in their mindset would not soothe the wounds all hearts bear. Sometimes the crime is past done. And maybe with that the time for reform has also been lost. And so all that gives a small inch of relief, temporary, is an eye for an eye. And then, there is moving on.
